Years ago, I came across an article about a library in Denmark that had something called, “The Human Library” – where instead of readers browsing for books, they could choose to sit with a person to hear not just their life story, but their experience with a particular topic. This was their way to break stereotypes and get to know subject matter from people who actually experienced it.

As someone who has always been fascinated by others, this concept made me start thinking about the people I know and if any of them had life stories worth sharing.

People I Know is a series of informal conversations in which I tap into the nuanced lives of friends, family and acquaintances.

The goal of these conversations is to inspire others and give insight into all walks of life. I hope it inspires you to ask deep questions to those in your home and your life. You never know which questions could open up a world you knew nothing about.

I hope you enjoy these conversations as much as I did!
